If you’re reading this you’re just in time! Welcome to the very first edition of Club Keepsake, a newsletter within a newsletter designed to inspire. I will be sending these to your inbox every week with creative prompts, reminders for intentional living, and all the inspo my instagram saved folder can handle. Think of this space as your digital clubhouse, and all the other members as your online friends. I highly encourage everyone to get to know one another and share what they’re working on. If you’re looking to level up your artistry, cultivate creative community, or just add some imagination brain teasers to your week, this is the place to be. I’m so happy you’re here.
prompts

This November I’m going through my Renaissance, and that means there’s just as much musing to be done about the past as there is the future. We can’t get to where we want to go unless we can clearly see where we’ve been. This time of year is typically a time we’re surrounding ourselves with family, visiting old friends, perhaps revisiting old patterns too. What parts of yourself are reflected in your loved ones? Do you like that reflection? What can you let go of from your past, and what do you wish to usher into your future?
I’ve been thinking so much about my future lately, and what it could look like five or ten years down the line. There aren’t many concrete goals that come to mind as much as there are feelings, and in the past I might scold myself for thinking in the abstract but now I find it to be a comfort. The thing I want to be most of all is in touch with myself and in constant creative process, and the bigger things will come as long as I stay true to that magic.
write: a passage where you intimately detail a day in your dream life. Don’t get precious with the pages, just let everything flow. If it helps you can set a timer for 10 or 15 minutes and commit to writing stream of consciousness that entire time. Think of the big things of course but really get granular too. I think the details are the most important part of visualizing something and making it happen. What does your house look like? What does it smell like?
make: something that honors your inner child. This can be in the artistic medium of your choice, but the subject matter should relate to something that brought you joy as a child. As a kid I used to make comic books (shout out to Archie) and I think I’ll get back into that to make it as full circle as possible. Don’t feel like drawing it out? Check out keepsake’s guide to digital collage for a fun and accessible medium.
do: speak your dreams into existence. I don’t believe in the superstition of telling no one what you wished for. If you say what you want you’ll put the energy out into the world. I’m always talking about my dreams so they always exist in my present.

I’m holding this space for updates from all of you in future editions of Club Keepsake. What are you working on? What are you excited about? Are you looking for pen pals? Do you have a good book to recommend? This is also where you can submit your response to the above prompts. Keep in mind anything submitted may be shared with the class in the next Club Keepsake, but you can let me know if you wish to remain anonymous.
author’s note
In the spirit of everyone getting to know each other I thought you could get to know me a bit more too. I’m Julianna, and I’m a writer and artist living in Brooklyn. I work in social media and also give myself a lot of other jobs including this very newsletter. I created Keepsake to add creative intention to my daily life, and I’m endlessly thankful it can do the same for you too.
